Parents Meeting

Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), BOSCO, Bengaluru organized a consultation with parents of children in conflict with law of the West Division at BOSCO Mane, Bangalore on February 24, 2019. Basavaraju P N, Coordinator, SJPU, BOSCO, Bengaluru explained in detail about child protection, child rights, POSCO Act, child marriage and child trafficking, citing various examples and by screening documentaries. He also explained about the importance of children’s follow up and present situation of the serious offences. Some of the cases were at the point of closure while some of them were still continuing. Three children were continuing with their education while the other youth were job-placed. He exhorted the children to tread the path of righteousness, goodness and asked them to make use of the services of BOSCO for counseling and vocational training. Ten parents and six children participated in the discussion. Kavitha, Social Worker, SJPU Project, welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks.
