BOSCO Foster Care Programme in collaboration with Auxilium Navajeevana, Chamarajpet, Bengaluru organized half-day Pro-Child Network Meeting at Auxilium Navajeevana on July 12, 2019. The Pro-Child Network was formed in 2018 with the aim of bringing NGOs together to discuss various concerns related to children and to bring about policy level changes by advocating with the Government.
An input session on ‘Helping children who are into substance/Drug abuse’ was facilitated by Mr. Remy Lobo, Psychiatric Social Worker, NIMHANS, Bengaluru. Ms. Joyce, NIMHANS, speaking about Strategies and Skills to motivate parents of Vulnerable Children, said parents should be physically and emotionally fit to take care of the children in all situations, appreciate their children and pay attention to them. She also spoke about teenage pregnancy and biological, sociological and psychological factors that affect the children’s self-esteem.
Sr. Anna Thayil, Director, Navajeevana Auxilium welcomed the gathering and Mr. Shivamallu, Coordinator, BOSCO Foster Care Programme, proposed the vote of thanks. Thirty-three participants from twenty-two NGOs present for the meeting.
