Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Project, BOSCO, organized a Sensitization Programme for parents at the Hub Center, Ramanna Garden and Jolly Mohalla, Bengaluru, on October 25 and 27, 2018. Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, ECCE Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, in his keynote address said, “Children should get quality education and nutritious food. Spending quality time with children will help in building a better bonding.” A video on early childhood care and education was screened.
Ms. Vinnarasi, Cluster Coordinator, ECCE project, BOSCO Bengaluru, displayed the Early Childhood Education tool kit and explained about the importance of nutrition, education and habit formation. Parents were asked to encourage children to consume green vegetables and avoid junk food. She briefed about methods of teaching and food distributed at AWC Center. Ms. Shailaja, Anganwadi Teacher, Jolly Mohalla, demonstrated few activities which could be taught to children at home to recapitulate topics taught in the class. Parents were motivated to follow up on what is taught at the Anganwadi. Mr. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, ECCE Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, facilitated an interactive feedback discussion. Parents were asked to monitor the punctuality and regularity of children.
Forty-six parents from Ramanna Garden, D’Souza Garden, N.S. Garden, Cement Huts, Timber Yard Layout, Bakshi Garden, Jolly Mohalla, Pension Mohalla, Chaluvadipalya, Velmurugapura and Tippunagar participated in the programme.
