Training Programme on Juvenile Justice Act for Police Officials

Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU) Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, organized training programme on Juvenile Justice Act 2015 for the Civil Police Constables of Karnataka State at the Police Training School, Thanisandra, Bengaluru, on July 20, 2019. Introducing BOSCO to the police officials, PN Basavaraju, Coordinator, SJPU Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, facilitated the session on Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Model Rules, child rights, functions of Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and Child Welfare Officers, Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), its roles and responsibilities, POCSO Act 2012 and Child Helpline (1098). He explained about the various sections of the JJ act, changes in the names of the government agencies dealing with children and the role of police officials in the care and protection of children in difficult situations.
Mr. Pradeep, Police Inspector, Police Training School, Thanisandra, Bengaluru and Fr. C.V. George, Director, SJPU Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, were present for the training programme. Kavitha, Social Worker, SJPU Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Sixty police officials attended the training.
