Training Programme on Leadership for CRC Members

Child Safety Net (CSN) Project, BOSCO Bengaluru conducted a training session on Leadership for the members of the Child Rights Clubs (CRCs)  at BOSCO Mane on May 27, 2025. Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru delivered the introductory words where he briefed about protection of children, child protection mechanisms and purpose of this training programme.

 The chief guest, Mr. Rajendraprasad, PSI,  VV Puram Police station spoke about POCSO act, child marriage, child labour and role of police in protection of children.

Adding on to this Mr. Manjunath, PSI, Market Traffic Police Station spoke on importance of education and school. Mr. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, Juvenile Advocacy Project spoke on child rights and qualities of CRC Leaders. Mr. Shivamallu, State Coordinator, BOSCO Foster Care Programme took  session on child related laws and explained about the issues of children and also introduced to the different departments which work for the welfare of children. Fr. Johnson, Director, CSN Project discussed the way forward with CRC leaders.

After the training session children were taken to VV Puram Police station for an exposure visit through a rally. Police officials explained the staff structure of the police station, weapons and equipment’s used by the police officials for the prevention of crime. They also gave awareness on procedures involved in dealing with children in conflict with the law. Mr. Satish, ASI, VV Puram Police Station was present in the session. Forty children attended the training.
