World Day Against Child Labour with the theme, ‘Act Now: end child labour ‘was observed at BOSCO mane on June 12, 2021, Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, BOSCO Mane and Vikas, said, “Everyone should join hands to eradicate child labour.” A signature campaign was organized on the occasion. Fr. John MA, Director, SJU and Rainbow Home, Staff and children were present for the programme.
On the occasion, BOSCO Yuvodaya conducted a drawing competition on the theme. Fr. Johnson, Director, BOSCO Yuvodaya was the judge. Johnson, Coordinator, BOSCO Railway CHILDLINE, gave awareness on the theme. A drawing competition was organized for the children of Annamma Colony under the guidance of Ramaswamy, Outreach officer, BOSCO Yuvodaya. Twenty-one children and staff attended the programme.
BOSCO Yuvakendra organized drawing competition for the youth of the centre on the World Day Against Child Labour. Sr. Silvy Lawrence, Director, BOSCO Yuvakendra, gave awareness on the theme and asked everyone to join hands to end child labour. Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru and Fr. CV George, Salesian In-Charge, BOSCO Yuvakendra were present on the occasion.
CHILDLINE Collab, BOSCO Bengaluru in collaboration with Bembala-Outreach Progamme, St. Joseph’s College, Bengaluru, conducted an online session on CHILDLINE 1098 and child labour. Speaking on the theme, ‘Act Now: end chid labour’, Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, BOSCO Mane and CHILDLINE said, “The pandemic has aggravated the existing woes of the economically poor and the marginalized. Everyone should join hands to eradicate child labour.” Over hundred and ninety students and staff of the college participated in the programme.
BOSCO Railway CHILDLINE observed the day by conducting outreach activities. The team did one to one awareness on the theme to the public and the stakeholders in Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station, Bengaluru. Hundred and twenty people got benefitted from the programme.
BOSCO Rainbow Home organized drawing competition, skits and dances highlighting the importance of the theme. Fr. John MA, Director, BOSCO Rainbow Home, children and staff were present on the occasion.
World Day Against Labour was carried out at BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan (BVB) on June 12, 2021. Children staged drama depicting the theme followed by the song on the same. Ms. Saroja, Teacher, BVB gave message on the theme, ‘Act Now, End Child Labour’ and also on the importance of education. Children participated in drawing and painting competition and the winners were announced. Sixty girls participated in the programme.
BOSCO Life Skills Training Centre, Sumanahalli conducted drawing competition for the youth of the centre. Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, BOSCO Mane and Vikas spoke about the eradication of child labour which is the need of the hour.
