BOSCO, Bengaluru from its inception has been rallying for ‘the right-based approach and carries out its mission upholding the rights of the young, especially the poor and marginalized. For forty years, the journey of BOSCO has been to realize the dreams of homeless, abandoned, and children in all types of difficult situations, for a safe and secure childhood, good education, and a shining future. BOSCO has been able to make the children realize that each one of them is a diamond, and each one of them has the potential to be brilliant.
The completion of forty years of partnering with the young living on the brinks of society is yet another significant milestone in the annals of the organization. At this juncture, we are delighted to share the inspirational narratives of forty persons who had the determination to surge ahead, tiding over innumerable odds, with the timely intervention of BOSCO. Forty Diamonds is a glimpse into the lives of risk-takers of our times who have been touched and transformed through the multifarious interventions of BOSCO over a span of forty years. Battling with countless hardships, the brave, unsung heroes featured in this book never lost their hope but plucked up courage and showed the sheen to improvise, adapt and overcome.
These inspirational lives are indeed living examples of resilience and an indomitable rise of the human spirit.
