Training on First Aid

The BOSCO Health Care Department organised a training programme on First Aid for its staff at St. Martha’s College of Nursing, Bengaluru, on 10 September 2026. The session was facilitated by Ms. Uma Rai and her team from St. Martha’s College of Nursing, providing the participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies.

The faculty explained that first aid refers to the immediate care provided to a person during an emergency before professional medical assistance is available. Through presentations and practical demonstrations, the participants were introduced to first-aid responses for common emergencies, including nosebleeds, foreign objects in the ears and nose, seizures and epilepsy, fractures, injuries, fever, common cold and burns.

The trainers also highlighted the importance of proper first-aid measures while assisting and transporting individuals with multiple fractures or serious wounds, stressing the need to prevent further injury.

A total of 12 BOSCO staff members participated in the training.
