Special Child Labour Rescue Drive

On 8 and 12 September 2026, special child labour rescue drives were conducted across Bengaluru in collaboration with the Police Department and the Labour Department. During the drives, 19 children and 26 children engaged in labour were rescued from various locations in the North and South Divisions on both days, respectively.
All the children rescued from APMC Yard on September 8, 2026, were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) North, and as per their order, the children were admitted to Sparsha Nisarga Grama Trust for counselling, care, protection and parental follow-up. All the rescued children, rescued on September 12, 2026, were produced before the CWC, South, which directed their admission to the BOSCO Yuvodaya Reception Unit for immediate care and protection. The children were provided with counselling and assessment, followed by appropriate care and further follow-up in accordance with the directions of the CWC and established child-protection procedures.
