BOSCO believes that education is the best gift that we can give children. BOSCO’s innovative strategies are aimed at motivating children to return to academic education and attend regular classes. A very vulnerable group of children that BOSCO reaches out to is children who are away from schools/education. When they are placed back to their homes it is of utmost importance that they get back to school. Those children who could not go back to their homes but reside in our centres are supported with education (bridge education, school, college, vocational skill training etc.). Our residential centres that offer education to children are Mane, Vikas, Vatsalya Bhavan, Rainbow Home, Yuvakendra and Sumanahalli.
An important kind of education that BOSCO offers to the young at risk is Bridge Education to prepare out of school children to join mainstream education. While working in the economically backward slum communities, we work with anganwadi Centres, community/ Government schools, parents and caring community groups to ensure that every child is in education. Supplementary education programmes are run in the slum communities to support school going children so that they do not drop out and do their studies well.
