RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS

BOSCO’s  Research and Documentation (BRD) was instituted to take up systematic data collection, scientific documentation and research and publications regarding BOSCO and issues regarding children. Reports and photos of activities and events from all the centers, areas and programmes are collected periodically and maintained in BRD. The department also maintains child data from the last three decades. It has a library of reference books, journals, research papers, case studies and other private circulations on child-related issues.

Research and publications are also used for advocacy purposes at the government level. The researches and practices of BOSCO have contributed towards the establishment of State and national programs for children such as Open Shelter, Missing Child Search, Foster Care, After Care, Railway CHILDLINE, etc. The organization from its inception has been rallying for a ‘rights-based approach’ and carries out its mission for upholding the rights of the young, especially the poor and marginalized.
