Awareness on Foster Care

 BOSCO Foster Care Programme organized an awareness on foster care concept for the Anganwadi mothers at Honnenahalli Grama Panchayat Office, Sompura, Nelamangala, Bengaluru Rural on August 23, 2021. Shivamallu, State Project Coordinator, BOSCO explained the roles and responsibilities of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and Child Welfare Committee (CWC). He also briefed about adoption procedure, sponsorship, open shelter and foster care concept. He urged the Anganwadi Mothers to disseminate the information to other people in their communities and help BOSCO in identifying prospective parents and children to be placed in foster care. Ms. Prema, Grama Panchayat Member, welcomed the participants and Ms. Parvathi, PDO proposed the vote of thanks. Twenty-three mothers attended the awarenesssession.
