KARATE BELT GRADING EXAMINATION

BOSCO Nilaya, Bengaluru organized Karate Belt grading examination in collaboration with Mr. Marlinga, Karate instructor (WFSKO) on November 4, 2018 at BOSCO Life Skill Training, Sumanahalli, Bengaluru.
Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO Nilaya, Bengaluru, in his keynote address said, “Child rights violations have been increasing day by day. In such a scenario, you as children, especially, adolescent girls must take initiative to bring about awareness and protect yourself. Let us strive to create a child friendly society”. Mr. John, Program Head, South Region, Child Rights and You (CRY) appreciated and motivated children to use Karate not only as an art of self- defense but to protect the country during times of difficulty. Fr. Prasad, Director, CHILDLINE and BOSCO Life Skill Training center Summanahalli, Bengaluru, quoting the words of Sensei said, “Safety first defense next. Discipline first everything next”. Sensei Syed Fawadullah, Chief Instructor, Karnataka WFSKO and General Secretary, South India WFSKO, emphasized the importance and purpose of learning Karate.
A Karate Demo was done by Mr. Marlinga and children who would be participating in Karate Championship to be held at Goa. Certificates, medals and belts were distributed to all participants by dignitaries. Fr. C.V. George, Director, ARSP and SJPU, BOSCO Bengaluru, was present. Over hundred and twenty children participated in the event.
