Planning and Monitoring Meeting for 20 District Partners

Foster Care, BOSCO Bengaluru, organized Planning and Monitoring meeting with 20 District Partners and Project Staff at BOSCO Yuvodaya, Bengaluru, on June 20, 2026.

Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru,highlighted the importance of the review meeting in assessing achievements, addressing implementation challenges, reviewing pending child placements, planning for the coming year, and identifying improvements to strengthen future interventions.

Fr. P.S. George, Director of BISS, emphasized that social work requires commitment, passion, and compassion. He appreciated the achievements of the Foster Care project, particularly the successful placement of many children over the past 14 years.  He stressed the need for proactive child-parent matching, better coordination with PO-NIC’s, and maintaining updated lists of children and prospective foster parents.

Fr. Deepu, Project Manager, BOSCO Bengaluru, emphasized that Family is where children should belong, and that every effort should be made to place the most deserving children in family environments.

Mr. Chowdappa, Member, JJ B, Kolar, said that he has been associated with BOSCO for the past 12 years and has worked closely with the organization in facilitating child placements during his tenure as CWC Chairperson.

Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, presented the impact of the Foster Care programme and the recommendations and suggestions for strengthening Foster Care programme in Karnataka. Mr. Shivamallu, State Coordinator, Foster Care, presented 1-year statistical data of programmes, placements, challenges, and major Activities.

The District Directors and the Social Mobilizers shared various challenges and suggestions regarding Foster Care implementation. They highlighted the need for better coordination with DCPOs, CWCs, and PO NICs, as well as regular follow-up and communication with government officials.

Mr. Shivamallu, State project Coordinator welcomed and Ms. Nandini, Advocacy Document Coordinator and Mr. Nagappa, Social Mobilizer, Raichur, proposed the vote of thanks. Around 39 members from nineteen districts participated in the meeting.
