Training for Stake Holders

Foster Care Programme, BOSCO Bengaluru, organized trainings for Anganwadi workers, Self Help Group (SHG) members, officials of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRI) and Women’s Organization members of Brahmavar, Pethri and Cherkadi, Udupi District on November 15 and 16, 2018.

The Team started the program with introduction of BOSCO, its centres and services and went on to explain child rights, CHILDLINE helpline, concept of foster care, legal procedures in foster care, difference between foster care and adoption, eligibility of foster parents, different type of placements like individual foster care, group foster care, kinship care, age group of children, time frame for placements, legal procedures involved in becoming a foster parent and the roles and responsibilities of CWC. Seventy-eight Anganwadi Teachers, sixteen SHG members, twenty PRI Officials and forty-six members of the Women’s Group attended the training.
