ADOLESCENT GIRLS COLLECTIVES

7 Adolescent Girls’ Collectives comprising of 195 girls are established in Shivajinagar and KR Market areas. Through various strategies, the adolescent girls are empowered and educated on various topics on relevant subjects such as: prevention of suicide, developmental changes in adolescence, being alert, decision making, education, child abuse, child rights violations, managing emotions, safety measures, personal hygiene, responsibilities of being a girl, POCSO Act, right to education, women achievers, reproductive health etc. This is a way of protecting the vulnerable population of adolescent girls in the slum communities.
