HOME PLACEMENT/RESTORATION/ SOCIAL REINTEGRATION

BOSCO firmly believes that children must grow up in their families for their stable and holistic development. The impact that a family can have in a child’s overall development is unparalleled. BOSCO, identifying this real need of children, helps to reintegrate them into their families. In the past years nearly 20 children were rescued daily from the railway stations, bus stands and other contact points in different areas of Bengaluru. 86% of such children are taken back to their homes as institutionalization is always the last resort. The children brought to Yuvodaya – Transit Home, are counseled and encouraged to return home. The process includes calling the parents or close relatives and handing the child over to them. When needed the BOSCO staff accompany the child back home.Total number of children home placed: 2018-19-is 3079, 2019-20- is 4806
