BOSCO In Action

CHILD RIGHTS CLUBS

The child rights clubs act as a powerful medium for the empowerment vulnerable children. The CRCs are busy throughout the year exercising their rights, advocating the cause of school dropouts, re-enrolling them into schools, strongly voicing against safety issues, planning strategies to enhance learning, motivating dropouts to enter the mainstream of education, and participating in all the activities of the centre. Through their timely intervention, many child marriages were stopped, child labourers were rescued, and children were re-enrolled in schools. Club members meet monthly with their animator and discuss current child-related issues, particularly those pertaining to their respective schools and areas.BOSCO runs over 102 Child Rights Clubs (CRCs) in the schools and communities. About 2000 children are active members of these clubs.
