RESCUE

BOSCO runs child rescue operations in seven railway stations located in and around the city of Bangalore.  Daily on an average 14 children are rescued from these places and they are supported towards their rehabilitation and restoration.

BOSCO has a rescue booth each in the BMTC and KSRTC bus station in Bangalore and are also present at 3 more bus stands in Bangalore with its rescue and rehabilitation services to the run away and trafficked children and vulnerable youth at these places.

BOSCO Childline teams are always on the wheels and feet to attend to any child in distress. The teams rescue children from various distress situations such as: abandoned babies, victims of child sexual abuse and harassment, child marriage, child labour, addicted children, run away children, children subjected to cruel corporal punishments and any child in need of care and protection.

The Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU) works with 36 police stations and assists the police in the police station limits with support to take care of children exploited and in conflict with law. The team also trains police personnel, GRP and RPF on JJ Act and organizes rescue operations for children in dangerous situations with the support of police and in coordination with various other departments of BOSCO as well as Government functionaries.

Child Safety Net is another department of Bosco that is actively into Rescue and Rehabilitation of children from the other vulnerable areas of the city. This team not only rescues children in at risk situations but also brings together various stake holders especially at the vulnerable areas to create a safety net for children
